hey guys! i wanted to share an unreal recipe that i made this weekend for the first time.
you may have already heard of these as bakerella (talented lady who makes those darling cupcakes on sticks who was shown on martha stewarts show) introduced them on her website last year, but i have just heard of them recently.
it is the end of the fiscal year for the USAF finance department so all last week steve was eating good as everyday at work was basically a potluck (i was jealous as i was stuck at home eating boring tuna fish sandwiches and watching dora over and over...yay me) so he would call me up bragging about what he was eating knowing that it would drive me crazy! (im trying to eat better and lose this nasty spare tire around my middle) one of the guys from his work brought in these things which in his family are known as "crack balls". nice name eh? i guess they call them that as they are supposely as addictive as crack...not that i have any experience in that...so steve got the recipe from the guy and i looked online to see what their real name was. i found TONS of people who have made this and raved about them so i decided to make them for that 80's party that we attended on friday night. holy crap they were amazing!!! i love oreo's as it is (ive been known to down a package in a day by myself) so i knew that these would be unreal!
i forgot to take a picture of mine so im borrowing this one from the internet (mine were not this pretty!)
steves at work till midnight tonight (for the final closeout and to help a guy out with re-enlisting) so im decorating a cake for my friends birthday tomorrow and listening to some awesome podcasts that i found on itunes (if you love techno/remixes and want great music to work out to, ask me and i'll lead you in the right direction). cake decorating is really interesting to me but when i try and decorate a cake, i get frustrated as it looks awful! so i will not be posting a picture of this cake im working on as its ghetto and embarassing...! i plan to take a few classes once we get back to the states.
i was browsing the internet and found this cupcake cake pan that looks pretty fun. cool huh? that would be awesome for a birthday cake!

hope everyone is doing well. we are chillin' and enjoying this lovely weather here in germany...good thing our heaters work well! its so miserable and cold! steve and i were about to start the fireplace last night...but were too lazy to go next door and get wood...hahaha
